having been to the san jose location and comparing the two, i would say baekjeong long angeles has my heart haha. we made reservations for the 3 of us which was very easy and simple. the table was set up perfectly when we arrived. we ordered the small beef combo and a side of pork belly which was just enough for 3 girls. service was fast and easy, they cook the meat for you and what i didn't realize was that you can get refills on the steamed egg! the meat is cooked perfectly and i have absolutely no complaints. when we asked for more salad and rice paper, it came within a minute! overall, i would come here again if i was in LA!

One of the best KBBQ spots in LA Koreatown. It's not all you can eat, but rather you order a set option from a menu and then one of the workers cooks the entire meal for you. Because of the high quality meats they use and the continuous service they provide, this place is quite pricey. But definitely worth a try at least once!! The flavor of the meat is amazing and you can definitely tell the quality is top notch. I love that they give you a ton of different unique banchan here before you begin your meal. They all felt very traditional and were so flavorful. Their kimchi is really good! It's also really fun to eat the extra side dishes at the outset of the grill, like the corn cheese and the grilled veggies. The service here is amazing. Super attentive workers and well-cooked meats. Like all the other reviews said, it does get very smoky in here so you WILL leave smelling like meat, but for a good cause. The wait here is crazyyy long so just be prepared to wait a while! But it's worth it :)

So it's important to note that this is not an all you can eat (AYCE) Korean BBQ place. With that said, you order meat plates a la carte and these places tend to have higher quality meats than the AYCE places. I made a reservation just in case it was crowded. We got there around 12:00pm on weekday and there were plenty of indoor and outdoor seats. I still say you should book reservations as I know other reviews talk about how busy this place is. My crony and I got a small beef combo which includes: thinly sliced brisket, prime marinated beef and we chose prime boneless short rib over the prime rib eye. It also comes with a choice of soup and we chose the pork kimchi stew. The small combo serves 2 and the large serves 4. After tax and tip, our total bill came out to $123.35. Most AYCE places I've been just have below average to bad customer service. Well, this place has exemplary service. Multiple helped us out and I was not acclimated to servers actually cooking the meat for us; that was a first for me and I've been to a myriad of KBBQ places. I was pleasantly surprised that when I accidentally dropped my spoon, someone came over and gave me a new one before I had the chance to ask. I though it was cool how they had various dishes on the outer edge of the actual grill. For instance, there was egg and corn on the outer grill that end up getting cooked once you start grilling the meat. The brisket and prime marinated beef were was good as other places I've been to. However, the prime boneless short rib was absolutely sublime. Since it's in the heart of LA, parking can be a pain, but we found metered parking. The whole food adventure took us an hour. The food was good, but it was definitely a tad bit too expensive for what we got.

TLDR; flavor town with impeccable service. Tucked away in an enclave of restaurants and bars is Baekjeong. Expect a long wait because this place it's popular, and for good reason. Came here with a large group and once we were seated our waiter immediately attended to us. The place isn't too big and the inside gets a bit smokey despite the ventilation. We were fortunate enough to sit on the heated patio. Once seated, you receive numerous complimentary appetizers. Each appetizer is so unique in its flavor profile and texture that it's worth the price of admission alone. We ordered the wagyu combo. It gets perfectly cooked by the waiter and my goodness each cut of meat is tender and flavorful. Also ordered the seafood pancake and it's a home run. A great restaurant, with friendly staff that is perfect for large groups. If you want to go to flavor town, eat here.
